Categorize scripts and put them into bins. Gather scripts into batches of the same topic. Then decide how many times per day or daypart you want to address that topic. You'll want to schedule case messages about staying connected to your local community during your local news programs, and staying connected to the world during national news programming. You'll want to schedule your close messages so that you ask most often for your expected average gift, and schedule your Major Giving asks on a once-an-hour or every-other-hour schedule. You'll also want to include messages based on the basic fundraising syllogism of "You listen. Listeners support the station. Contribute now." at least twice an hour through your entire drive.
Don't use a lot of scripts. Use a small number - as many as a dozen or more or as few as two in any bin. Make sure they are well-written, concise scripts that are direct and to the point. Keep scripts down to 30 seconds or so, and write them in a way that lets the on-air talent embellish them.
Rotate scripts so that you use each script at least 20 times per drive. Twenty times per drive is about three times per day over a seven day drive. Our software makes that task easier than it sounds. PledgeDriver has a rotator function that is optionally selected in the Bin Manager. This option acts like the rotator function in your station's traffic software. When engaged, it sequentially places fresh text whenever the script bin's title is placed into the grid. When an hour with rotators is copied and pasted into another hour, PledgeDriver inserts new text from the same bin. This feature is a great time saver. Call for a demo.
Good luck in your next drive!
